On the 14th
of January 2011 the yearly Prinses Beatrix Fonds Symposium neuromuscular disorders was held with the central theme 'keep it simple, recognise the patterns'.
The symposium was a success with attendance of more than 200 people working on or interested in neuromuscular disorders. During the different presentations, the audiance was able to actively participate in the different discussions by voting for certain answers. At this symposium the prize for the best neuromuscular paper published in 2010 was handed to Christa Walgaard for her paper 'Prediction of respiratory insufficiency in Guillain-Barre syndrome' which was published in Annals of Neurology in June 2010. The prize was given to her by Jan-Ite de Ruijter, director of the Prinses Beatrix Fonds.
